ENBRIDGE DONATES $10,000 TO STRATHROY MIDDLESEX GENERAL HOSPITAL FOUNDATION

Enbridge supports the Strathroy Middlesex General Hospital Foundation with a donation of $10,000 toward the purchase of 10 Evacuseld Plus devices—a bedside technology to aid in the emergency evacuation of non-ambulatory patients from in-patient units to a safe area.

“We are pleased to support the Strathroy Middlesex General Hospital Foundation because they are key to the health, safety and wellbeing of our community,” said Ken Hall, senior public affairs advisor with Enbridge. “The Evacusled Plus evacuation device will aid in the quick and easy movement of non-ambulatory patients to a safe area during an emergency. The technology requires minimal staff to operate and dramatically increases the speed and efficiency involved when moving patients.”

“We are thankful for the support from our neighbour, Enbridge,” said Susan McLean, chief executive officer, who accepted the cheque on behalf of the Foundation on Friday, January 8, 2016. “Through this donation and their corporate support as a member of the Strathroy community, we are able to provide ongoing support to community residents, and ensure our hospital staff has access to the best equipment when they’re on the job.”

The Enbridge Safe Community Program provides financial support to first responders and safety driven organizations so they can acquire new equipment, obtain professional training or deliver educational programs. The program has provided funding to organizations across North America since its inception in 2002. Through investments in partnerships and human capital, Enbridge supports organizations that contribute to the economic, environmental and social well-being of communities near its operations.
